1. Best eats in Barcelona

Operating hours in Barcelona, especially of independent shops that I tend to write about, are all over the place. Some start a bit later in the morning (say 11), some pick a random day of the week to close. It’s mystifying, check their website or Facebook page but keep in mind that sometimes these are not updated to reflect changes.

2. Delicious Tapas

It’s time for a winter salad, it’s simple tasty and let’s you use some of the delicious vegetables that you might not use for salads that often. It’s very simple, peel and wash root vegetables. Slice them thin and make a vinaigrette with mustard and red wine vinegar, combine with the vegetables and serve.

3. Tapas Talk

On my last trip to Barcelona a couple of months ago, My good friend Gabriella who is always in the mood for good food and wine, joined me for a self-guided tapas tour one warm Saturday evening. After we got sidetracked at some fun shops on the Rambla de Catalunya and the Passeig de Gracia, we stopped at Cerveceria Catalana. If you are new to the idea of tapas and don’t mind being with others who are too, this is a great place to start.

4. Lisa eats Barcelona

We’re all familiar with Germany’s long and significant brewing history. And those who haven’t experienced a hefeweizen on a hot afternoon in the sun should be ashamed of themselves. But it seems as though domestic beer drinking of the traditional German brews are on the decline, and the explosion of American craft beer has sparked what some refer to as Germany’s craft beer renaissance.

“The German beer industry has to reinvent itself in a hurry, or it’s going to be a small fraction of what it is now.”

5. TopList Best Tapas in Barcelona

Tapas are a wide variety of appetizers, or snacks, in Spanish cuisine. They may be cold (such as mixed olives and cheese) or hot (such as chopitos, which are battered, fried baby squid). In select bars in Spain, tapas have evolved into an entire, sophisticated cuisine. In Spain, patrons of tapas can order many different tapas and combine them to make a full meal.
